Our Mission

Striving for excellence today to prepare students for success in a challenging world tomorrow.

Truancy Notifications:

Parents, although our county exemption policy has been modified due to the magnitude in which the flu has impacted student attendance, the truancy protocol has not. Schools are still required to send letters home for both 3 absences and 5 absences. These letters are being sent home for both excused and unexcused absences. Please be assured that truancy charges will not be pursued unless a true pattern of absenteeism is apparent. Please feel free to contact Jennifer Pike, Hope Dykes, Luanne Townsend or Mandi Pike if you have any questions regarding letters that you receive.

Visitors,
All administrative parking has relocated
to open our front parking area to parents
and guests.

Please don't forget to sign in when you visit!

NOTE TO PARENTS

Everyone Learns Together (ELT) is a thirty minute segment within the school day that allows us to work with our students in a way that is mandated by federal legislation (No Child Left Behind) as well as the Georgia Department of Education(Response to Intervention). During this time (10:45 - 11:15), all students are involved in an activity that is meant to enrich student learning. ELT groups will change in January as we begin our second semester.

IT'S ABOUT LEARNING!

PARENT PORTAL IS NOW AVAILABLE!  Have you received your login info?

Parents, look for information coming home with students on October 26th regarding the Parent Portal. This online records system provides access to student information including class schedules, student grades, attendance, assignments, and school and system announcements. The portal also gives parents the ability to print reports and correspond with teachers via email. The information coming home with students will include the Internet Acceptable Use Policy form. As soon as the form is signed and returned to school, Parent Portal activation codes will be sent home to parents. With regular use, the Parent Portal is an excellent way to keep up to date with your child's progress.

Community Expectations

We are doing a great job of reinforcing the expectations within our community. But remember, it takes everyone in the community to keep the community above the line.

Community is common unity.

common: Belonging equally to or shared equally by two or more; joint.

unity: The state or quality of being one; singleness.

Once we cease to have a common unity, we are no longer a community, but just a group of people in the same building.

Vision of discipline:

The vision of discipline is to establish a safe learning environment and to reduce all distractions that hinder students' learning.

Purpose of discipline:

The purpose of discipline in a school is to bring all stakeholders into agreement on what they value as a community as they shape the school culture from day to day. This creates oneness in the community.

  • In our community, all will live above the line.

  • In our community, all will show respect for those in authority.

  • In our community, all will show respect for individual rights of others.

  • In our community, all will show respect for learning by having an environment free of bullying, jiving, teasing, and horseplay.

This will be demonstrated by:

  • Entering the classroom quietly, taking your seat, and beginning the assignment given by the teacher.

  • Staying quiet and seated until given alternate directions.

  • Preparing for class by bringing all teacher-required materials.

  • Actively participating in your learning experience in a positive manner.

  • Transitioning (moving) in an orderly fashion throughout the building.

Anything less than the above is below the line.
